Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street. Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

This ryokan is beyond my expectations.

This ryokan is beyond my expectations. They have more than every thing. Their hospitality was so impressive. The food was excellent which served in private room. Strongly recommend for to anyone who is looking a best experience in kinosaki onsen.

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night...

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night which was too short. overall Kinosaki Onsen is a gem of a village. It is picture perfect and with lots of "protected" traditional Japanese wooden frame homes. You travel back in time ! old houses, people on yukatas and clogs, a small stream passes thru the middle of town with willow trees. few vehicles and few locals on roads, a typical tourist village. The best time to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience - dusk. Esp with the street lights and lights from the roadside buildings My Ryokan is fantatstic - we visited during shoulder season and prices were great. Will come again in autumm 2024. there are extra costs to be paid for public onsen but well worth. Tried 4 public onsen which was awesome - cave onsen, outdoor onsen facing a mountain stream, outdoor onsen. The morning public bath was less busy with few users while the evening baths was very busy, My choice of onsen was Gohsonronyu, outdoor facing a trees and mountain stream and the cave onsen. kinosaki is technically an ONSEN village. we dropped our luggage to be delivered to hotel opposite the train station. went exploring the village and used the cable car to offer prayers to the village onsen guardian. everywhere is within walking distance

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in.

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in. However, it can get a bit touristy during some months. We went in September which is considered the low season, yet we felt that there were too many people around. However =, it is still the best onsen town in the Kansai region.

I've never stayed in a town like Toyooka.

I've never stayed in a town like Toyooka. We could follow the willow-lined canal and walk the town in our beautiful yukata. We ate all along our route -- Sugi Bee Sweets for delicious honey-infused frozen yogurt and a fruit drink sweetened with honey, Family Mart for a bento box and egg sandwich, and breakfast was provided with incredible grace and beauty by our onsen, Nishimuraya Honkan. The town is very walkable -- we only were in a vehicle going to and from our onsen by shuttle bus. We were a little surprised that so many of the restaurants closed very early -- I'm assuming that was because we were there in the off-season.

Complemented by a fantastic luxury athmosphere (food, music, decoration), housed with an exceptionally friendly and skillful staff, this is a hotel to melt any amount of stress away into oblivion. Serves some splendid, high-end local food that will leave you breathless. The food has a great variety, it is delicious and visually appealing. Decoration is a surreal, an almost dreamlike mixture of western architecture and Japanese traditional ryokans. The resort also has a lot of nature in the immediate vicinity, perfectly relaxing.

Location, location n location. It is a 2 minute walk to the train station, Tourist Info Centre and onsen. Breakfast was good, room very clean and bright. the young staff at the ground floor were very helpful. Many eateries and cafes within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel provided toothbrush, hairbrush and 2 bottles of water. Yukatas, geta and a bag with 2 towels for onsen hopping are provided daily for onsen hopping.

A traditional Ryokan with update facilities. Great breakfast and dinner, one of the best I have tried from the onsen hotels. Staff are great, they are all proactive in offering us assistance and help at the most appropriate time even we haven't asked for it. Special thanks to the young cheerful lady who briefed us facilities of the hotel and served us dinner is their star performer and made our stay much enjoyable.

It was a laid back place with some shared spaces like the toilets and a downstairs kitchen area. The establishment itself is a bookstore / cafe and the hosts are generally hanging out there. It was a good stay and we enjoyed interacting with our hosts. Definitely worth a stay. However, if you're coming for the onsens, note that the onsen pass or yukatas are not provided by the hosts, like a hotel would in Kinosaki.

The staffs treat us guests like the king and queen, especially Ayuri. The hotel interior is lovely, the reception area feels very modern, but once we step into our Japanese style room, we instantly feels like we were thrown back to the past. They have 3 onsen rooms and they’re all have different vibes. The Tajima beef dinner and also the crabs dinner was amazing with 10 course! Breakfast also very thoughtful!

Such a lovely place and host. She picked us up at our previous hotel and was very helpful all the way. She lent us some bikes so we could explore Kinosaki and even made breakfast for us! The area is so beautiful and we hiked up a mountain which our host recommended. It does indeed live up to its name. Absolutely recommended! Thank you for accomodating us:)

Even though we couldn't get a reservation for the hotel's dinner or breakfast, the staff kindly gave advice for other nearby options. All of the staff were super kind and bilingual. Also the use of the umbrellas, geta and yukata, bags for our bath stuff and the pass for the baths helped to offset the price of the room.

We had a wonderful stay at Tokiwa Bekkan. The room was large, comfortable and had a beautiful garden view. The service and food was exceptional and we were grateful for the shuttle bus to town. The hotel has a lovely small outdoor onsen, but we also really loved using the free public onsen pass during our stay..
