The weather was perfect for cherry blossom viewing today. In several parts of the city, the Yoshino trees are about to reach full bloom. Accolade and Shidare trees are approaching the end of their flowering peak, while the Shirotae trees have started to open their large white blossoms.

These are trees of the relatively rare Mikurama-gaeshi Cherry species. One of the best locations to view them is 18th Avenue between Arbutus and MacDonald Street. The trees are about to open their blossoms.

A relatively large beautiful Shidare-zakura in a private garden in full bloom. It is just one especially beautiful example of dozens to hundreds of Shidare-zakura that can be found in private gardens throughout the city.

Some Takasago trees along Comox Street in the West End have started to open their blossoms. About one to two Takasago trees per block can be found along Comox Street all the way from Nelson Park to Stanley Park.
