Today's Report

Very rainy road trip

Silver lining

Yesterday I had a great evening with the owners of Kawanami, Mr and Mrs Kawaminami. beautiful live piano, a couple of bottles of wine, discussions with two vulcanologists or ghost stories and Celtic philosophy with Mr. Kawaminami. All of a sudden it was midnight, and I went for a quick onsen dip in the little private onsen they have - as well as the bigger indoor and outdoor ones I had already tried out the day before. What a treat!

The view from my room at wonderful Kawanami hotel

The entrance to Kawamani hotel - as lush as the rest of Toya Ko

Such a shame to leave Toya Ko!
Unfortunately, I must be catching the last of the typhoon that has been affecting Raina down South because it has been raining all night and all day today. Although it didn’t really matter since all I did was drive from Toya Ko to the South of Hokkaido.

Thank God for onsen!

It was a long and rainy drive down South to my next destination, but fortunately I am staying in another onsen hotel, and the fouler the weather - the more enjoyable the bath!

Even (or especially?) cats won't go out in this weather
