March 31, 2014 - Cherry blossom Kamakura

Today we did a day trip to Kamakura. Cherry blossom had a similar progress to the one in Tokyo. We started our tour at Engaku-ji, it contains some trees at full bloom ...

... and a spot for viewing Mt.Fuji, as weather conditions were perfect in the morning we saw Fuji-san like this:

We continued by walk to Kencho-ji, which already welcomes us with some nice full-blooming trees.

Trees in the center of Kamakura were a bit more mixed. We found some full-bloom trees near the small lake in the upper part of city.
On the other hand the trees a long the main street are more half-blooming.

Genjiyama Park ( listed in japan-guide.com spots: /e/e3116.html ) seems to be a late starter, there is nearly no blossom visible till now. So, we were a bit disappointed after climbing the hill.

As a finisher of the day we climbed down to Daibutsu and most cherry trees around the Great Buddha are on full-bloom.
... a nice finisher before we had to return to Tokyo (by a 1hour train ride).
