Takayama accomodation and attractions 2013/3/1 14:18
Hi,

Plan to be in Takayama in April. Places to visit include :

Hida Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Hida Furukawa, Shinhotaka Ropeway and Okuhida hot springs

Given the places that we plan to visit, is it advisable to make Takayama our base and move back and forth daily? Stay there all 4 nights or seperate it into 2 towns - Takayama and another one.

Are there suitable tour packages or hv to book accomodation and transportation seperately?

Thanks for all yr help.

I would probably overnight in Takayama and Okuhida Onsen.

Furukawa can be done as a day trip.

Shirakawago can be a day trip although you may prefer to spend one night there.

I would book accommodation and transport separately.

One of the Nohi multi-day tickets like the Alps Shinsyu/Hida Open ticket may suit you (scroll down the bottom):-

You could just use Takayama as a base I guess and spend all your nights there if you prefer.

Enjoy your trip!
