Opening hours of gardens around Kinkakuji

Hi everybody,

sorry if someone asked the same question, I checked the list of opened topics and I didn't found the exact response. The question is:

Are the gardens around the temple open after 5pm? or is everything closed after that time? I would like to take pictures of the temple at night (from outside).

The walk up to the kinkakuji area has no closing time but the pavilion and the gardens directly surrounding it are all enclosed within the paid area and close around 5. From what I recall, you can't see much of the pavilion when you're outside the fence.
