Kyoto station luggage locker 2013/3/26 23:13
Do you know how the locker system works in kyoto station? I would like to store luggage while we tour kyoto. Would you know who to see and where in the station I know they are not coin operated right? the lockers have a key in the vacant ones? Then we pay who? sorry I am not familar with this in Japan. Can you please help me?
Thank you

Just like in the rest of Japan. It is explained here:

In addition to coin lockers, Kyoto Station has a manned luggage counter, where you can store luggage during the day (but not overnight).

As Uji mentioned, there are manned counters to store luggage (on level b1 I think). I would recommend going there if you have large sized luggage, as large sized coin lockers are usually taken quite early in the day and can be more expensive (approx 600 yen for a locker but 400 to 500 yen per item at the manned counter).
