What is high school life in Japan like?

Hi there! So I'm going to be doing an exchange program to Japan next year for high school. I'll be staying a whole year for 11th grade. I'm just curious as to how High school life and the culture is like compared to America. I've researched a little bit on culture and high school life so I have a basic idea of it, I've also learned basic Japanese (but still not enough to pass N5). Anyways I still don't know where in Japan I'm going to be going yet so that's got me a little worried. Anyways please respond and thank you to those who do respong. (^_^)
