Hello, I've been planning my trip to japan, and I'll be traveling for a month. My main question is, should i purchase two JR passes? a 21 and a 7 or 14?
my itinerary is -
3 days tokyo 1 days Nagoya 2 days Kanzanawa 1 day i Hiroshima 3 days Miyajima 1 day okayama 1 day Naoshima 1 day Osaka Over night on Mt Koya 7 days Kyoto Over night on Mount Fuji 5 days sapporo 2 days Tokyo Depart
Do you much advice on saving money? Or cool places to go? I'm backpacking and mostly staying in hostels
thank you heaps!

It takes two days to travel to Sapporo and back. I strongly recommend to us the plane somewhere during your stay. You can save a lot of time and money doing so. I would consider the following route: Tokyo - (bus) - Mount Fuji - (bus and train) - Nagoya - (train) - Kanazawa - (train) - Kyoto - (train) - Koyasan - (train and ferry) - Naoshima - (ferry and train) - Okayama - (train) - Hiroshima/Miyajima - (air) - Sapporo - (air) - Tokyo Alternatively, I recommend to fly Osaka - Sapporo - Tokyo, which are particularly cheap air routes. Cheaper than the Hiroshima-Sapporo route. About air tickets: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2364.html
