Surroundings of Kyoto Imperial Palace 2013/7/11 13:51
Hi,
I was wondering if we still need to sign up for the guided tour if we just wanted to walk around the compound of the palace. in the maps i have seen the compound is one big rectangle with two smaller compounds inside (kyoto imperial palace and sento imperial palace)
is the tour for the whole big rectangle or only the smaller kyoto imperial palace rectangle?
are the surrounding gardens and shrines free to access without the tour?
hope my question isnt too confusing

thanks!

Hello!
Yes, there is a public garden, you can walk freely.

By the way, you can see a line that mark made by the wheel of a bicycle there.
Don't walk on the line, because there is considered the reserved road for bicycles.
