transport from shiga kogen to tokyo at winter

hi there...
I wanna know how can I reach tokyo from shiga kogen without turn back to nagano. is it possible to get bus to kusatsu onsen first and then by train direct to tokyo? if can't, how can I get?

The road between Shiga Kogen and Kusatsu is closed for most of the winter (it actually becomes part of one of the ski runs), but from late April there are buses that go to Mount Shirane where you can transfer to buses down to Kusatsu. You'll have to transfer buses again to either Naganohara or Karuizawa, from where you can catch trains to Tokyo. All said and done, its faster and easier to go via Nagano unless you specifically want to visit Kusatsu Onsen.
