Dancing in Roppongi?

I am going back to Japan with my girlfriend this summer and our friend is taking us dancing in roppongi.

I have been to Japan a number of times, an even taught in kansai for a while.. but I have never been to Roppongi and have no clue what the place is like.

I hear that there are a lot of places ran by foreigners there that do odd behind the scenes things. Nigerians, if I am correct?

Spiking drinks, aggressive behavior, credit card scams, etc.

Should I be talking him into taking us to shibuya or somewhere else?

As long as your friend is taking you to a club that he is familiar with you should have no problems; there are legitimate clubs in Roppongi. Just don't wander off on your own and be talked into going where you shouldn't go.
