Tokyo cruise terminal to Kyoto

When we end our cruise in Tokyo we want to go straight to Kyoto [or Osaka] by train from cruise terminal.... What is the simplest way to do this.Is there a train that goes to Cruise terminal that connects to ongoing train to Kyoto/Osaka or is it easier to take taxi to train station ?
