Mode of transportation 2014/5/16 15:13
How do I get from Narita Airport to the Osanbashi Yokohama Intl. Pier. What is the cheapest and fastest mode of transportation for two of us. Am arriving in the morning, have about 5-6 hours and is there anywhere around to sightsee before I board my cruise ship. I was told there are several sights within walking distance from the Pier. Thank you.

A foreign traveler can use a NfEX Tokyo Direct Ticket to travel by JR from Narita Airport Station / Airport Terminal 2 Station to Sakuragicho Station, partly taking a "Narita Express" train to Shinagawa Station or Yokohama Station.
- JR-East: NfEX Tokyo Direct Ticket

"Akai Kutsu" is a sightseeing route bus service in Yokohama. Its buses are available roughly from 10 am to the evening, and they use the bus terminal just to the northeast of JR Sakuragicho Station. It has two routes, which are Route (C) and Route (M), and Route (C) has a bus stop close to Osanbashi International Passenger Ship Terminal.
A fare of "Akai Kutsu" bus is 100 yen per adult per ride.

Seats of a "Narita Express" train require reservation.

Among "Narita Express" trains leaving the airport, most are two-destination trains until reaching Tokyo Station, and have a part to halt at Shinagawa Station; the others are one-destination trains, which all halt at Shinagawa Station.
: If you can catch a (part of a) "Narita Express" train bound for Yokohama or Ofuna, you can take it to Yokohama Station, and switch there to Negishi Line (Track 3); Sakuragicho Station is the next stop.

: Even if you cannot travel directly to Yokohama Station, you can switch to Keihin-Tohoku Line (Track 4) in Shinagawa Station and take a train bound for Ofuna or Isogo to Sakuragicho Station.

To visit the tourist information center in Yokohama Station, you need to exit JR through a ticket gate. In that case, your NfEX Tokyo Direct Ticket should be collected there. A one-way JR fare to get from Yokohama to Sakuragicho is 140 yen per adult.

Yes, but that depends on the range of your walking distance.
Sightseeing spots in Yokohama are located here and there in several areas.
Osanbashi Ship Terminal is rather close Yamashita Park, which is about 500 meters away.
Red Brick Warehouse can be accessed by Akai Kutsu Bus Route (C) from Osanbashi Ship Terminal or from Yamashita Park.
If you change bus directions at (C16) Red Brick Warehouse (C5), you can travel to China Town, Motomachi or Minatono Mieru Oka Park.

On Yokohama City Bus website, an English-language edition of this route map is not available; hopefully you can get one at a tourist information center.
