Hi! For our itinerary we are using the train as follows:
Tokyo - Kyoto - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Osaka - Kyoto - Odawara - Tokyo, as well as local city trains.
We are a family of five, staying 18 days in Japan.
My question is, will we benefit from having a JR Rail Pass and if so which one?

This depends on when exactly you will travel between each city. As you probably know, the Japan Rail Pass has a limited validity period, so for example if you do Tokyo-Hiroshima-Kyoto within 7 days, a 7-day JR Pass will be advantageous. Otherwise it will not.
