Kyoto to Yokohama - which station

Hello all,
I am searching hypedia now for the best way to go from Kyoto to the JAL City Kannai hotel Yokohama.
Should we buy a train ticket from Kyoto to Kannai and walk the 10 minutes to the hotel. Or do we go from Kyoto station to Yokohama station or Shin-yokohama station to catch the subway to Nihon-odori and walk the 3 minutes to the hotel.
Please advise me what is the easiest way to go as we have 2 suitcases as well.

The Shinkansen from Kyoto will only stop at ShinYokohama.
Walking for 10 minutes with luggage would be a pain, so
looking up the route to Nihon Odori on Hyperdia it seems you would need at least 2 changes.
I would suggest a taxi from Shin Yokohama for when you have your luggage with you....would be much easier.
