toll and fuel cost from tokyo to hakuba 2014/11/8 19:44
Hi. I plan to rent a car and drive to hakuba this december. May i know how much is the estimated cost for the fuel and toll fare? Is it safe to drive there? I have drove to Hakone last year during spring and it was good.

Th e regular toll fee is around 6500 yen from central Tokyo via the Kanetsu and Joshinetsu Expressways via Nagano.

The fuel obviously differs widely depending on car type and driving habits. The distance is about 300 kilometers and it is quite mountainous. With an average car you will probably consume about 20 liters of gasoline, which currently would cost around 3000 yen.

Is it safe to drive there?

It depends on your winter driving skills. There is a risk to encounter snow and ice on the road especially between Nagano and Hakuba and around Hakuba.
