Clothing from Late Nov - Early Dec 2014/11/19 11:17
I will be going to the Kansai region in late nov to the second wk of dec. Coming from a tropical country, are down jackets and thermal wear required?

And will Yonago be much colder than Kyoto/Osaka/Hiroshima?

That is the time we usually go, and stay at Nara and Kyoto.

While the daytime temps get above 10 Celsius, it is very cold early morning (sub zero sometimes) and the wind can be bitterly cold. In fact I tend to find it a little colder at times than what it is when it snows.

We usually take heavy snow type jackets at least. I think layering is hopeless because the taxis trains restaurants etc are scorching hot so you only want to have to take off one or two things. Gloves are a must, but you can get good cheap ones at the convenience stores, and uniqlo is good if you are still feeling the cold.
