We are a family of four (with 2 kids). We will be in Kyoto for a total of 1.5 days (after deducting time traveling to Kyoto and checking out of accommodation etc). Here's our plan for the time being.
Subways/bus to the usual tourist attractions. Fushimi, Kiyomizu-dera, Gion,
maybes: Philosopher's Path, Arashiyama, Nishiki Market
Should I get the Kyoto Subway One Day Card or Icoca for ease of getting in & out?
Thank you.

I recommend to use an IC card, such as Icoca, in combination with geographically wise planning of your 1.5 days. The IC card can also be used in many other parts of Japan.
