Getting salary of 16 Lakh INR in Japan

Hi All,
One of my friend is getting offer of Job in Japan (Tokyo) with salary as 16 LPA and with free food, accomodation and air ticket.
Project would be for 7-9 months duration.
Is this salary ok to work in Japan?

If my calculations are correct, this would be a salary of about 350,000 - 450,000JPY/month. With food and accommodation paid for, this will be a very comfortable salary.
Assuming that 'lakh' = 100,000
16 x 100000 = 1,600,000
1,600,000INR in JPY is approx 3070000
Divided between 7 or 9 months gives you roughly the monthly figures above.
Your friend should be able to save plenty...
