Japan Spring Trip 2015/3/4 11:33
Hello, it's my first time to Japan and is trying to plan my itinerary. I am very confused with the JR Pass and would really like to know do I need to get one for my trip and some advances on my itinerary.

Here's my draft itinerary:

Day 1: Tokyo (Shibuya, Harajuku and Odaiba)
Day 2: Mount Fuji (Fuji Shibazakura Fastival)
Day 3: Asakusa area + Tokyo Tower
Day 4: Tokyo (Most probably Ebisu Station) to Kyoto
Day 5: Kyoto (Sagano Scenic Railway)
Day 6: Kyoto (Fushimi Inari Shrine + Kiyomizu Temple)
Day 7: Kyoto to Osaka
Day 8: Universal Studio Japan
Day 9: Kyoto to Nara (Day Trip)
Day 10: Osaka Castle
Day 11: Osaka to Chitose (Flight)
Day 12: Sapporo to Otaru
Day 13: Sapporo
Day 14: Sapporo to Asahikawa (Asahiyama Zoo)
Day 15: Chitose to Narita

1. Should I get a JR pass?
2. Can the JR pass be used in Sapporo?
3. What will be the preffered mode of transport for my itinerary.

Thank you so muchhhh!

No, none of the Passes would pay off. Pay for individual tickets from Tokyo to Kyoto, and use a Suica card for the rest.

2. Can the JR pass be used in Sapporo? yes, but will not be worth it

3. What will be the preffered mode of transport for my itinerary.
Pay for individual tickets from Tokyo to Kyoto, and use a Suica card for the rest.
