Icoca card and Kyoto buses

I have a question about the ICOCA card. Theres a lot of people that say that the card doesn't cover the buses and railways in Kyoto but then some say that it DOES cover the Kyoto buses and railways so I just want to know for sure, does the card COVER the buses and railways in KYOTO or NOT?? Thanks!!

Last December, Icoca became accepted on most Kyoto buses. The people that tell you otherwise do not seem to have heard about that change.

There are still some buses that do not accept Icoca, in particular the reddish "Kyoto Bus" buses that head into the outskirts of Tokyo, e.g. Ohara. But even these are expected to accept Icoca in the near future.
