Need itinerary 5 days in Japan 2015/8/30 23:56
Hi All,

I am currently planning to have holiday in Japan with my family for 5 days. My plane will arrive in Osaka on oct 13th and will depart from Haneda on Oct 18th. We don't like shopping, we prefer to have something fun with my 2 years son.

Please give me input / recommendations for the itinerary. I'm also planing to take Shinkansen train from Osaka to Tokyo, should we bring our luggage with us or is there any other way to send our luggage to Hotel in Tokyo?

How about Zoos or Aquaria in Japan? Between DisneySea and DisneyLand which one do you prefer for my son? And the last one, should i bring stroller or not, fyi my son weight around 13 kilograms

Thanks before

Japan is not known for their zoos. Though aquariums can be interesting to kids. The question really is how intelligent is your 2 year old. Some kids can only walk at two while others are speaking complete sentences.

Science museums can be interactive and fun for your kid. The one in Nagoya has the largest planetarium in Japan. Again, it depends on the child.

Luggage that can be placed in the overhead compartment on planes can fit into Shinkansens easily. Anything larger, you might have to take standing space. Note that certain shinkansens has shelves to place your larger luggage (think Netherlands or London airport express). For transportation of luggage you can google Kuro Neko Yamato. Airports and convenience stores usually provide their services.

I don't know how much of Disney land or sea your 2 year old is going to enjoy, you just might end up exhausted for not much.

With five days, and half of one of those days gone for travelling between Osaka and Tokyo, you're limited in options in my opinion.

Osaka's Kaiyukan might be worthwhile: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e4004.html

There's lots of zoo options but in my opinion they're rather sad. Zoorasia in Yokohama is good, but it's a bit of a trip out. Instead I'd possibly consider visiting Nara from Osaka, and seeing the deer while you're there.

You can either bring your luggage with you on the shinkansen, or get your hotel to send it ahead. Sending ahead will probably be easier for you when carrying a child as well.

There are a few blogs around written by people who have taken their young kids to Japan, I would search around and see what worked for them. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is: http://www.strollingadventures.com/

Well its pretty simple but Ueno Zoo in Tokyo is pretty good. They do have Panda's there. You could also check out the Aquarium, although small, at Tokyo SkyTree.

Hope this helps!!
