Working in Japan questions 2015/10/13 12:26
Had a relocation request from my company to work in Tokyo for a year to manage a project. They've converted my current salary and offered a substantial relocation package. I don't speak any Japanese but I'll have a translator with me the whole time. What's a good place to start looking for a place for a single male with a housing allowance of 500,000 yen?

Thank you

If that whole amount is for a monthly rent for a single person, it is generous. But to help you with your question: where in Tokyo are you going to work in? You need to take commuting into consideration, so it would help to know which station you need to get to :)

I think your housing allowance is 50,000 Yen/month.

If that's what you can afford and if that's who you say you are, this is the best place to start looking, since you can live anywhere.
