Recommended time for Yakushima

Hello,
I am making plans for possibly visiting Yakushima in April.
Since I can't do very long hiking like the Jomonsugi trail for 10-12 hours, I am aiming to at least hike the Shiratani Usunkyo and Yakusugi Land areas. As well as some exploring of the costal areas.
I plan on renting a car as I heard the buses are quite infrequent.
What would you recommend to stay for that purpose? 3 days? 4 days?
If possible heading out from Kagoshima on flight or jet foil on day 1 early morning and back on final day late evening if possible.
Oh, I saw on the hiking map here that the Shiratani Usunkyo trail heads into the Jomonsugi trail. Is it worth going all the way there or head back earlier?
