Staying at Mt Fuji mountain hut recommended? 2016/8/10 00:10
Hi. I'm planning to climb Mt Fuji end of this month. Would like to ask how difficult would it be if I decide not to stay at a mountain hut, and instead just use them to buy stuff and recharge myself? I'm finding the places a bit pricey for a few hours of stay, so I'm hoping to save a bit of money by choosing not to reserve a stay at the huts.

Seasoned hikers will generally have no problem foregoing the mountain huts. Casual hikers may want to utilize them to rest at especially in poor weather. Note that they typically charge a few thousand yen for 30 minutes rest indoors. If you are a relatively new hiker then staying at the huts is probably recommended.
