Mt. Fuji October? 2016/8/16 06:56
We arrive in Tokyo on October 18 and stay until the 22nd. I know official climbing season is over. Are there any trails that stay open that late into the season? I know the summit can be cold and snow filled and dangerous, but we would love to climb as high as we can. Anyone have info or companies that operate then?

Thanks

I'd look into the Fuji Subaru 5th Station if I were you!

You should be able to catch a bus there, and it's about halfway up the mountain. It's a popular spot for good views as you're above the clouds, due to the fact that you're about halfway up the mountain!

There isn't a lot of info for anything climbing-related outside of the July-September season, likely due to the fact that nobody actually runs tours because it's officially closed. My understanding is that it's exclusively professional-level climbers that are doing it themselves.

No recommed if you are NOT winter climb expert.

Just season off climbing is NOT illegal but some important rules exist.
Read guide webs.

This is one of super stupid foreign two climbers bad-end report.
One climber life saved by experts found earlier.

But one climber already died and found his body about 20 days later.
