Hi,
I intend on doing the hike to Jomonsugi when visiting Yakushima.
However, I thought of perhaps trying a different route, heading from the Shiratani Usuikyo to the branch where the route to Jomonsugi continues to the west and the route to Arakawa Trail entrance to the east.
Perhaps stay in the hut on the Shiratani area or near Jomonsugi and sleep, returning back the next day.
Anyone tried this approach? Or have any comments on it.
