Shirahama worth visiting in April? 2016/9/27 08:20
I know Shirahama is more of a summer resort. Is it worth the trip mid-April? Or is the town still dead at that point? Is there much to do aside form beach activities in the summer?

Thanks!

We were in Shirahama during April in 2008 and yes it was pretty quiet during that time of the year but it was to our liking as there were less crowd when we toured around town. Besides a popular beach destination in summer there are quite a bit to see. We love the various coastal features and the dip in atmospheric Sakino-yu. Tore Tore market is nice too, especially if you can go for a BBQ meal.

What's wrong with spring? Are you saying you'd rather go when there are throngs of people? lol

There are great hot springs and plenty of sights! Don't forget the hot spring eggs! Amazing!

Btw, if you notice that Shirahama Beach sand is particularly white for mainland Japan, you can thank the Aussies for that sand :)
