Hi! I'm planning to a 4 day 3 nights trip to Takayama in mid-dec and would be taking side trips to Okuhida and Shirakawago. Besides JR pass, I'm wondering if it would be good to purchase the Hida Open Ticket/Alps Shinsyu- 10,290 Yen?

Lastly, what are the chances of snow in these areas during my visit?
