10-day Itinerary 2017/1/14 22:56
Can you suggest an itinerary for a 10-day trip in Japan, arriving in Osaka on Day 1 and Departing from Tokyo on Day 10?

What do you want to see? Where do you want to go? You must do a little research yourself before some assists you. People here will help, but most of us aren't travel agents.

There are suggested itineraries available under 'Travel Planning'. If you want someone to do it for you, pay a travel agent - we can help with questions, but we don't design itineraries.

In 10 days, starting from Osaka, I would want to spend some time in Nara and Kyoto before going to Tokyo. While in Tokyo, I would want to go to Yokohama. I'll be traveling with my 7-year old son, wife and sister (so 3 adults and 1 child). Included in the places to see, for the benefit of my kid, are Universal in Osaka and Disneyland. It's our first time in Japan. For now, I'm thinking of the following itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive in Osaka in the early afternoon
Day 2-3 - Around Osaka and Nara
Day 4-5 - Kyoto
Day 6-9 - Tokyo, Yokohama
Day 10 - Depart from Tokyo in the morning
Does the above look like a good a itinerary? Any suggestions?

Please post again but give us some idea of what you like to do (sightseeing in cities, hiking, mountain temples/retreats, etc.) and whether you intend to explore Tokyo and Osaka or just start and end there. The seasons are of enormous importance in Japan, culturally as well as weatherwise; what month(s) are you visiting. I love to suggest places to go (a fault I think) but need a little more info. Ten days is enough time to get a good feel for parts of Japan so enjoy your trip but plan well.

Theme parks are going to take up a lot of your time, at least a day each, which gives you less time for actual sightseeing. For example, you've put two days for Osaka and Nara, but if you go to USJ on one of those days, you won't get much time for Osaka itself. Likewise, 3 days for Tokyo and Yokohama plus DisneySea means you've only got one day in Tokyo itself.
