Alphine route from Tokyo

Changing to do alpine from Tokyo and to end up in Osaka.
Should I take train direct to Nagano and stay a night in Nagano . And do a day tour to Matsumoto to wasabi farm and the castle . Is it doable in a day?
Nagano- alphabet route- Kanazawa (2night) -takayama (2 night) -Kyoto (2 night)-Osaka.
Is this the best way to travel ?
