Any sunflowers in Biei in early July?

We will be traveling in Hokkaido the first two weeks of July. We would like to see the sunflower fields in/around Biei or Hokuryu (and elsewhere) if they are blooming. I understand that the peak time for full sunflower blooms in in August, but is it likely that there will be ANY sunflowers blooming when we will be there (around July 6-7)?
We will be visiting the lavender fields in Furano at this time (my understanding is the Furano lavender fields will usually have peak color in mid- to late-July, so I assume we will see good color there). We would love to see the sunflowers also, if they are out. Is it worth planning to stop in either Hokuryu or Biei for the sunflowers then, or is that just way too early?
Thanks!
