No public transport from Tomamu to Furano?

Hi,
1. I'm planning a trip to Hokkaido in September but somewhow stucked in the route from Tomamu to Furano. We don't drive and have limited budget. Can someone tell me whether is there any public transport from Tomamu to Furano on weekend Saturdays during the month of September?
2. Can I check is it worth to buy 3 days JR pass for the following trip?
Day 1 Tomamu - Furano - Biei - Furano - Tomamu.
Day 2 Tomamu - Noboribetsu - Hakodate
Day 3 Hakodate - Sapporo..
Would be appreciated if you could help. Thanks.
