Foreigner buy jrock live ticket impossible? 2024/3/6 14:04
It is impossible right ? I should give up right ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individual_Number_Card

Because things are getting more and more difficult, actually more like impossible now.

Planning trip alone is quite a headache, to match the dates, to buy plane ticket and hotel
exactly at the same moment to match or else I'm screwed too.

To match the live concert ticket date as well.

And figuring out how to is already overwhelming because everything has to be perfectly planned
with no exception. While things are getting harder.

One, you have to have a Japanese phone number, this is already difficult but you can get a sim card
at Japan for this problem alone. Well doable.

Two, you need to purchase the ticket with a Japanese card. (Impossible but if you have a Japanese
friend to buy it for you or the payed service where they do it for you, it's kind of possible. For most people they will probably give up. There is a big chance it could end up a scam or the staff could tell you to leave because they found a problem.)

Three, you need to have a Japanese identification card to show and the ticket needs to match
the idenfication. (Foreigners can't get a Japanese identification card so forget the matching part.)

Four, even if you are a Japanese citizen living in Japan to make things really easy being able to
go anytime you are free, you need this new "individual number card. My number card. ƒ}ƒCƒiƒ“ƒo[ƒJ[ƒh. ŒÂl”Ô†ƒJ[ƒh."
They say only 60% of the Japanese got it because they didn't felt like they need it.
Mostly because unless you go to live concerts or so you won't.
When you read the wiki page already you can tell it's the global surveilance being mentioned by facial recognition and stuff. Japanese are doing a good job of staying cash, but they will pretty much find other ways anyways.

I think most people don't care or know about these stuff cause they aren't interested.
In my previous trip to Japan I was looking forward to go to live concert and the situation was insanely confusing and too much headache I had to give up. Probably the only country where you can't just
go and buy ticket 1 or 2 weeks prior and they don't even let you record because they will record to sell it as a bluray. It would be nice if there's a free one outside where you can record. Some say the less
popular ones are easy to buy offline right away but I have my own favorite jrock band. And sadly they aren't performing when I go. There's only a mixed performance with other unknown bands.
Although I can't even buy to begin with.
Since I have to plan with the concert, I can't begin to make reservation and so confused.
Also if I were to only stay in Tokyo and Osaka, things are easy but if I were to stay in other places,
I have to book other region hotels in a specific date and that is also making me anxious.
Maybe book only tokyo and osaka then visit there and come back.

I want Takanori Nishikawa, Granrodeo or Uverworld and Gackt.
They all have no live even on summer for the moment except mixed live with other singers
which will make them sing only 3 songs and leave for other unknown singers.

I think it is impossible. Even as a resident, it has become increasingly difficult and complicated to spend money in Japan due to "safety". It suffocates the economy. I am a resident of Japan, currently on a 2-week stay outside of the country, and I can't make reservations for a play that I wanted to see because I don't have access to my landline. I understand the reason behind it (resale abuse), but I think it is completely over the top. There must be better, less isolationist ways.

Actually, no, that is one of the harder things. A sim would be data only. You could get an 050 Skype number (not easy, but maybe doable), but some places insist on an actual number, not a VoIP one.

Two, you need to purchase the ticket with a Japanese card.{
Actually, this could be one of the easier ones. You can set up an online virtual debit card - there are services for this. But, some places insist on a "credit" card. I have this as an issue paying for a service as my previous card expired - with change to company policies, my replacement card is not accepted, only Japan issued credit card

Overall, sounds like the site you are buying from has a lot of extra security measures and yes, that can make buying impossible. Plus, many sites have strict rules against resale.

When I think with common sense, it is 100% confirmed there is no way this is possible. Forget it. Other people who check this post should also give up. Most likely whoever says it is possible are probably proxy whatever people doing shady business to earn money. I did found some posts and most likely it's like 3 years ago when there was no my number card. Which is the ultimate security measure. Not even Japanese can go without having them.

This is truly a mission impossible mission. It reminds me of it. Somebody should make a parody on
youtube doing a mission briefing review. It puts shame to actual mission impossible's missions.
There's like 10 steps of "OCD" level of strict layers after layers of security to block all foreigners.

Definitely more security than going to other foreigner countries. People will rather have it easy sneaking into other countries illegally than going to Japan's live concerts. I know it's not the Japanese jrock stars doing this it's the government saying yes to globalism surveilance, making people hard to go cash. It's frustrating. Such a horrible times to live in.

Best bet for concerts in Japan currently is usually, a person can buy two tickets (or more?) and you might find someone who is selling their extra ticket, it implies you going into the venue with them. I've done this before.

If it's the kind of concert with seats, since it's often lottery system, often fans who are friends will like, both get two tickets and then both go with the seats of whoever got the better seats and sell off the other two. I've attended a few concerts that way; met fellow fans that way and it was kinda cool.

It also really depends like... the kind of band you are talking about, how big they are, etc. Who are you trying to see?

You can try some online shopping service to try to buy the tickets for you, like for example https://www.bridge.jpn.com/services/tickets
Back in the 2019 I also wanted to buy some concert tickets before my visit and emailed them and it looked like they were able to get me the tickets, but in the end I didnt use their service so I dont have any real experience with them. Or you might try to google bit to try to find similar service.
