Tobu bus schedules in Nikko 2009/10/16
Nikko
Hi,
I'm trying to find the bus schedules on the Tobu bus website but getting confused. Appreciate if anyone can advise / confirm.

My plan is to go from JR Nikko to Toshogu Shrine area to Lake Chuzenji to JR Nikko

1) I saw some information and I think I should buy the second pass here right?
http://www.tobu-bus.com/pc/ticket/nikko.html

2) I found the bus timetables here but having problems with the Japanese
http://www.tobu-bus.com/pc/area/pdf/2009_nikko0725.pdf

On page 1,
i) For Toshogu Shrine area, should I alight at 西参道発?

ii) For Lake Chuzenji, I'm not sure what is the difference between 中禅寺温泉着 and 中禅寺温泉発. Which is the correct stop?

On page 2,
iii) Does it mean I can take the 世界遺産めぐり bus to 大猷院二荒山神社前発 for Toshogu Shrine area too?

I'm trying to prepare in advance but does anyone know, when I get to JR Nikko, is the information on the buses available in English?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, that is right.

Note that this is the summer timetable (valid until November 30, 2009).

i) For Toshogu Shrine area, should I alight at 西参道発?

I personally suggest to alight at 神橋, the sacred bridge. Then, you can see the bridge and it is not too far from there to the shrines and temples.

For Lake Chuzenji, I'm not sure what is the difference between 中禅寺温泉着 and 中禅寺温泉発.

着 means arrival
発 means departure

iii) Does it mean I can take the 世界遺産めぐり bus to 大猷院二荒山神社前発 for Toshogu Shrine area too?

Yes, this is the bus that takes you the closest to the shrines and temples. For Toshogu Shrine, I recommend to get off at 表参道.

1) Yes, if you want to go only as far as Lake Chuzenji (Kegon Falls) and Toshogu Shrine, then the second one (at 2,000 yen) is the one you need.

2)
i) For Toshogu Shrine area, you can walk form either 神橋 or 西参道. As 神橋 is closer to the train station, you can get off there if you are going there from the station; if you are coming back down from Chuzenji Lake area, then you can get off at 西参道

ii) 中禅寺温泉 is the name of the stop. 着 means "arrive at" and 発 means "depart from."
