From Tokyo/Osaka to Shirakawago

I'm a foreigner. Which of these two cities(Tokyo and Osaka) is nearer to Shirakawago in terms of travelling? Your answer determines my flight to one of these two cities when I fly from my country to Japan. Thanks in advance.

There are a few different ways to access Shirakawago but most go via Nagoya and Nagoya is closer to Osaka than it is to Tokyo.

You can use www.hyperdia.com to check train times and distances between places, so you can see that "Kansai Airport" to "Nagoya" is quicker than "Narita Airport" to "Nagoya"

Obviously, if you are able to fly into Nagoya airport it will be even easier!

There are direct flights to Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo from my country. So, I will follow your instruction to fly to Nagoya then.
