Second area in Tokyo to stay/last days 2010/10/7 04:18
The first 3 nights ever in Japan, we are staying at the (Not yet booked) Hotel Villa Fontaine SHIODOME. After our trips to Kyoto and Hiroshima we have again 2 nights in Tokyo, before flying home from Narita 10:25 AM.
Which area (and maybe mid range hotel) will you recommend for our second stay in Tokyo ? For sightseeing, shopping and great midrange restaurant..
Thank you!

If your NRT flight is an early one, you may wish to think about convenience for catching a train to the airport on your last morning rather than convenience for sightseeing.

For example, convenient areas for restaurants include Ikebukuro and Akasaka. They both have excellent restaurants, good mid-range hotels, and fantastic transport connections, but will add half an hour or so onto your journey to NRT on the day you leave.

Places like Ueno are OK for restaurants, have good transport links for sightseeing, but are a lot easier to get to NRT (half an hour or so on the new Skyliner, for example).

If you've no particular rush (i.e. you don't have to catch a 9am flight), then the city's your oyster. Perhaps if you give us some ideas of what in particular you'd like to see in the last couple of days we can narrow it down?
