Ryokan/minshuku in ikebukuro 2011/1/11 20:35
Hi!

I will be making a trip during late summer this year and would like to know if anyone has any recommendations on a sub 15000 yen per room for 2 persons in a ryokan or minshuku in ikebukuro.

If you have any other recommendations in other areas along the circle line I'd be happy to hear about them.

Cheers

In a central location like Ikebukuro, you will not find any traditional ryokan or minshuku. You should be looking for a regular western hotel.

Try searching this forum with the key words "Ikebukuro" and "hotel," and you will be able to read many other threads on the topic (with recommendations and comments).

Kimi Ryokan is a very inexpensive ryokan in Ikebukuro. http://www.kimi-ryokan.jp/
It's a decent place to stay, but not very traditional.

Otherwise, you would have to stay in a different area to try a ryokan. Here is a list of ryokan in Tokyo: http://www.japaneseguesthouses.com/db/tokyo/
