What adapter should I buy? 2012/10/15 12:31
Hi,

I plan to visit Hokkaido next week. Since I live in US, I'm sure I need an adapter for my devices.

What adapter should I buy? I googled it, but it's so confusing. Some says that I don't need one, some says I must have one...

It depends on what you are bringing. Most electronics from the US do not need an adapter. Check the charger to see what the input voltage is. It will work if it says something like input: 100-240v.

Also, Japan and the US use the same shape plugs. The only trouble I sometimes have is with polarized plugs at older places. Also, you may want to get a 3 to 2 prong adapter at your local hardware store if you are bringing anything with a grounded plug.
