First trip to Japan - 3 weeks itinerary 2012/12/6 22:18
Hello! ^ - ^
Me and my mom are planning to travel to Japan for our first time in May 2013.
I've been working on this itinerary for the past few months, but I'm still not quite happy with it \:
If you could help me with it a bit, I would like some suggestions from people who already been there.
Also, I have a few questions, and I don't know anyone who've been to Japan so.. I would appreciate some help! ^^;

Mon 6th: 11:20 land in Tokyo Narita.
Take the N'EX to Tokyo station and from there the bullet train to Kyoto.
Afternoon in Kyoto.

Tue 7th: Kyoto.

Wend 8th: Day trip to Miyajima and Hiroshima.
Morning in Miyajima, and then continue to the Museum and peace park in Hiroshima.
Okonomiyaki dinner in Hiroshima.

Thur 9th: Day trip to Osaka.

Fri 10th: Kyoto.

Satu 11th: Day trip to Nara.

Sun 12th: Day trip to Himeji in the morning, afterwards continue to Koyasan for overnight stay.

Mon 13th: Back to Kyoto.

Tue 14th: Kyoto - Tokyo.

Wend 15th: Tokyo.

Thur 16th: Day trip to Kamakura.

Fri 17th: Tokyo (Ghibli Museum) + Yokohama.

Satu 18th: Tokyo (Sanja Matsuri).

Sun 19th: Tokyo.

Mon 20th: Nikko day trip.

Tue 21th: Tokyo.

Wend 22th (My birthday!) : Tokyo (Disneyland) + any recommended resturants in Shinuya? :3

Thur 23th: Tokyo - Hakone (Using the 2day pass)

Fri 24th: Hakone - Tokyo.

Satu 25th: Tokyo.

Sun 26th: Day trip to Takayama.

Mon 27th: Tokyo.

Tue 28th: Morning flight back home.

Well, this is pretty much the skeleton of our trip ^^;
And I have a few questions:
1. I'm kinda desperate on this one. Which would be better, two days in Hakone or Nikko?
Considering that we want to see more nature (Including lake Chuzenji).
2. I thought that it would be better to spend two days in Takayama, and include Shiragawa-go on the second day.
But my mom says its okay for her just one day. So, is it possible (Considering the long travel time from Tokyo),
To see both of them in one day and then return to Tokyo?
3. About the JR Pass, I was thinking to get the 2 weeks pass, and on the last week to get the Suica card.
Is it okay? Or should we just get the 21 days pass?
4. Kabuki and Geisha shows. I read that there's a recommended Kabuki theater in Ginza.
But what about Geisha show? Is there such thing? Anyone knows about a recommended place?
5. Since we're traveling in May, would it be warm enough to wear shorts? ^^;

I know that my post came out suuuuper long, and I'm really sorry for that!

Looks ok with a few suggestions.

Mon 6th: 11:20 land in Tokyo Narita.

Narita - Kyoto is four hours or so. You probably won't get to see much in Kyoto this afternoon.

Wend 8th: Day trip to Miyajima and Hiroshima.

Start early in the morning.

Sun 12th: Day trip to Himeji in the morning, afterwards continue to Koyasan for overnight stay.

Himeji is being renovated so consider Hikone Castle instead. Just allow enough time (2.5 hours or so) to get to Koyasan

Fri 17th: Tokyo (Ghibli Museum) + Yokohama.

You must pre-purchase tickets for Ghibli Museum.

I'd probably combine Yokohama with Kamakura.

Wend 22th (My birthday!) : Tokyo (Disneyland) + any recommended resturants in Shinuya? :3

Shibuya?

Shinjuku?

Maybe just eat at Disneyland.

Sun 26th: Day trip to Takayama.

You can't really do this as a day trip.

I would change your schedule so that you go Kyoto - Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama - Tokyo. I would probably overnight in Kanazawa and Takayama. You could also consider overnight in Shirakawago

Kanazawa:-

Shirakawago:-

1. I'm kinda desperate on this one. Which would be better, two days in Hakone or Nikko?

I would pick Nikko.

2. I thought that it would be better to spend two days in Takayama, and include Shiragawa-go on the second day.

Yes, or see above.

But my mom says its okay for her just one day. So, is it possible (Considering the long travel time from Tokyo),

No.

3. About the JR Pass, I was thinking to get the 2 weeks pass, and on the last week to get the Suica card.

Depends on your final itinerary.

But what about Geisha show?
