Would I get refund for the JR teikiken 2013/1/24 16:25
Hi I'm a regular commuter in Japan, my office is in Asaka, but now I have transfer in Tokyo. I have a 6months duration for my JR pass, but i just used it for 3months. Can I get refunds for that matter? Thanks

Yes, since you have more than one month left on it, you can ask for a refund.

Note, though, the amount they refund you depends on exactly how long you've used it:
- If you've used it for less than full three months, they deduct the price for [a three-month "teikiken"] and a small handling fee, and refund you the rest.
- If you've had it for three months and even one day, they round it "up" to four months, so they deduct the price for [a three-month "teikiken" and a one-month "teikiken"], plus the fee, and refund you the rest.

Basically yes.
[More than 3 month (not more than 4 months) have passed]
Refund
= the price of your 6-month ticket
- the price of a 3-month ticket
- the price of a 1-month ticket
-210 yen.
[More than 2 months (not more than 3 months) have passed]
= the price of your 6-month ticket
- the price of a 3-month ticket
-210 yen.
