Get real people!
Compared to other rail passes, for example those used in Europe, the all Japan JR pass is a bargain. We don't even pay to reserve a seat!

I don't mind not being able to use the Nozomi because the difference in travelling time isn't worth worrying about. Also the Hikari has more stops so it is more convenient for a tourist.

Having to change trains in Osaka or... with suitcases, is only a big problem for people not used to trains. I have used trains in Europe for many many years and quite often there is no choice but changing trains several times..
In some cases one even has to change rail stations and take the metro across town to continue the trip by train ( in Paris, London etc.)


Even taking planes often also means changing planes..that' s life..
