The Kamakura Enoshima Free Kippu by JR East is a rail pass consisting of:

2) Unlimited usage of the Enoden train, Shonan Monorail and JR trains in the Kamakura/Enoshima free area.

The ticket is valid on two consecutive days.

Assessment

This pass is slightly more expensive than the regular fare for a round trip to Kamakura by JR. But already a short trip on the Enoden train (for example from Kamakura to Hase to see the Great Buddha) will justify the purchase of the free pass over regular tickets.

Alternative Train Tickets

Odakyu is offering a less expensive, own free pass for Kamakura and Enoshima. It is called Enoshima Kamakura Free Pass and costs only 1,430 Yen. The disadvantage of Odakyu's free pass is, that the trip to Kamakura takes at least 90 minutes, compared to less than an hour by JR.

Note also that JR's free pass is valid on two consecutive days, while the Odakyu pass is valid on only one day, which is an advantage for people with the rather uncommon plan of spending a night in the Kamakura/Enoshima area.

Below is a summary of the three ways to get from Tokyo to Kamakura and back by train:
