2017 Cherry Blossom Forecast

On February 8, the Japan Weather Association published its first cherry blossom forecast of the season. According to the forecast, the cherry blossoms will open approximately according to their average schedule except in Kyushu where they are expected to open a little bit later than average. In Tokyo, the blossoms are predicted to open on March 24 and in Kyoto on March 28.

Temperatures, rain and wind have a strong effect on the process of the season, for example, they can accelerate, delay or shorten it considerably. Therefore, please use these forecasts at your own risk.
