There is a small number of trains, which are operated by JR (Japan Railways), but partially run on railway tracks owned by a different railway company. If you travel by Japan Rail Pass or Seishun 18 Kippu, a supplement fee has to be paid for the non-JR section on board of the train or at a station.   Non-JR section Affected trains Fee 1 Morioka - Aomori owned by IGR and Aoimori Railways Local, rapid and night trains between Morioka and Aomori. But note that Japan Rail Pass and Seishun 18 Kippu holders can ride the Aoimori Railway between Hachinohe and Aomori, if they use only Hachinohe, Noheji and Aomori Stations. 5330 yen +additional fee for night trains 2 Muikamachi - Saigata owned by Hokuetsu Express Local trains and the Hakutaka Limited Express (Echigo-Yuzawa - Kanazawa). 950 yen +500 yen* 3 Osaki - Shinkiba owned by TWR Trains on the JR Saikyo Line that continue to run on the Rinkai Line. (Popular line to access Odaiba from Shinjuku/Shibuya.) 380 yen 4 Ito - Izukyu Shimoda owned by Izu Express Local trains and the Odoriko Limited Express (Tokyo-Shimoda). 1570 yen +500 yen* 6 Kawarada - Tsu owned by Ise Railways Local trains and the Mie rapid trains between Nagoya and Toba via Ise. Limited express trains from Nagoya down the Kii Peninsula in direction of Kumano. 490 yen +310 yen* 7 Nishimaizuru - Toyooka Fukuchiyama - Miyazu owned by Kitakinki Tango Railways Limited express trains from Kyoto and Osaka to Amanohashidate. 1480 yen 8 Kamigori - Chizu owned by Chizu Express Local trains and limited express trains from Kyoto and Okayama to Tottori. 1260 yen +510 yen* 9 Kubokawa - Sukumo owned by Tosa Kuroshio Railways Limited express trains from Okayama, Takamatsu and Kochi to Sukumo. 2350 yen 10 Yatsushiro - Sendai owned by Hisatsu Orange Railways Local trains between Shin-Yatsushiro and Kagoshima. (Used to be JR owned before the opening of the parallel running shinkansen line.) 2550 yen * additional fee for limited express trains The above data is subject to change.
