December 3, 2017 - Kokeshi
Sendai is also famous (relatively) for kokeshi dolls. Craftman pass down their craft for generations. I made this one at the Sato Kokeshi workshop. Painting on the face was much harder than it looks. Also, the woman didn't give much instruction, just saying not to put too much paint on the brush. It was fun anyway, ended up with the kokeshi version of Gaijin Samurai!
