July 4, 2014 - Where Heda?

Even the detailed guidebook does not mention adequately about this tiny port town at the north west of the Izu peninsula, Shizuoka pref., this town can be called one of the typical gnot famous but attractive enoughh destinations on earth.
The name of this town is Heda (˓c).

There are two ways of access to this town.
The one is to take a public ferry boat from Numazu () Port. This way looks interesting and it really is. But the ferry service is not so frequent and a little bit vulnerable to the change of the weather.
Another - and more practical- way is to ride the public bus from Shuzenji (CP) sta.
It costs just 1,000 JPY from Shuzenji to Heda by a local bus one way per person.
The bus service is not as enough as the ferry, but available at least every two hours.
At this stage, the timetable of the bus leaves Shuzenji on 07:38, 9:15, 11:30, 14:20, 15:45, 17:30 and 18:50. All are for Heda (˓c)
I srongly recommend you to ask for details at the office of the bus company that stands just in front of Shuzenji station.
After 50 minutes ride, you take off the bus at the last bus stop.
And you can enjoy this view!

Heda itself is very small town, and I assume very little people understand English. But do not worry about it.
After glancing around, you can walk as you want. All the public bathes dotted this town are hot springs.
If you would like to bathe yourself, please ask the locals "Sentou wa doko desuka? (Where is the public bath?)" or maybe you can find them from their appearance even if the character is beyond your skill of Japanese.

Even not many Japanese have an idea about, but this town is famous for its unique seafood-abyssal fishes.
Some shops offer you the cuisine of deep sea fishes caught on the day for around 1,000-2,000 JPY.
Of course they are only rare fishes, not whales nor dolphines.
They are no doubt worth a try!
