What to send to my penpal?

I recently have been in conversations with my penpal who lives near Osaka but I want to send him a box of stuff from America as a gift exchange. He told me to get things that are "American"...which is proving to be very hard. He asked for Spiderman comics which I got, but im just flat on what else to get him.
I was hoping for some foodlike items to send and all i could think of is Girl Scout Cookies (weird right?)
Any suggestions?
