Eating in Nagoya 2013/3/16 07:30
Hi all,

We will be staying in Nagoya a couple of nights, mainly as a base for day trips to Takayama and Kiso Valley. Since we'll be returning to Nagoya each evening we're there, can anyone recommend some places to eat for dinner? We'd prefer Nagoya specialties.

We're not looking for fine dining, nor are we looking for places that cater to rowdy teens. Budget isn't really an issue, as long as it's midrange.

We'll be staying close to Nagoya Station, so places close to that would be ideal (though we'll be willing to hop on a train for a better deal if it's a must eat!).

Scroll down to the Nagoya Station section for restaurants near the station:

The Meitetsu station has great restaurants,m, as does the JR station.
Misokatsu, and MisoUdon are famous in Nagoya: in the Meitetsu complex was a restaurant with great Misokatsu, complete with huge bibs!!
Enjoy!

Have you seen this page? It doesn't list specific restaurants but has some good info on Nagoya specialty foods. My favorite is the tebasaki.

For a different atomosphere, eat outdoor on the river where restaurants serve different foods & drinks cheap & good.
